Studio Wildcard is back at it again, proving that nothing says “good morning” quite like giving the largest, most emotionally unstable apex predator in gaming a shiny new coat of digital paint.
A Glow-Up You Can Actually See From Orbit
If you thought the original Giganotosaurus in ARK: Survival Ascended was just a gentle giant that occasionally ate your base for breakfast, Studio Wildcard’s latest TLC update is here to shatter that illusion. The scaly terror has received a massive visual overhaul, boasting a fearsome new look that suggests it finally discovered high-end skincare routines and pure, unfiltered rage.
Of course, dealing with a Giga has always been about as relaxing as setting your own hair on fire while solving a Rubik’s Cube. The taming challenge has been thoroughly revamped, meaning you’ll need more than just a pocketful of berries and wishful thinking to bring this beast to heel.
Teamwork Makes the Scaled Dream Work
Once you actually manage to tame the behemoth—and survive the process without needing a complete psychological evaluation—it transforms from a walking liability into the ultimate squad leader. The newly updated Giga doesn’t just step on things (though the new foot-stomping and tail-slamming animations are worth the download alone); it shares its deeply concerning anger issues with nearby allies.
That is right: your entire tribe can now bask in the glow of shared ferocious fighting fury. It is basically the prehistoric equivalent of a motivational corporate retreat, except instead of trust falls, everyone gets to violently obliterate local wildlife. Just remember not to stand directly in its path, unless your long-term life goal is becoming a very flat pancake with teeth marks.
The Giganotosaurus TLC is available right now across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Go ahead and download it—your base was looking too intact anyway.
